The Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) summoned Finland’s Ambassador Marya Liivala and expressed a protest to her regarding the burning of the Russian flag in front of the country’s embassy building in Helsinki.
“Elchi” reports that the MFA’s press service disseminated information about this.
“A strong protest was expressed in connection with a provocative act on February 24, when the State flag of the Russian Federation was burned by unknown persons in front of the Russian Embassy in Finland,” the statement noted.
It was emphasized at the MFA that Moscow considers what happened an “unimaginable and insulting act of vandalism.”
“A demand was conveyed to the Finnish side for the identification and prosecution of the perpetrators, as well as for necessary measures to be taken to prevent such extremist actions against the Embassy of the Russian Federation in the future,” the MFA’s press service reported.
