The Ministry of Internal Affairs has once again appealed to citizens regarding cyber fraud.
According to news provided by the Ministry to “Elchi”, it recommends citizens to be careful against cyber fraud cases and to approach calls and messages from unknown numbers with caution.
It was stated that momentary carelessness can result in the loss of financial resources and the seizure of personal data.
It is noted that individuals presenting themselves as bank employees demanding card details, passwords, and other confidential information, as well as promises of high earnings in a short period, are signs of fraud:
“Information regarding bank cards, including PIN codes and other confidential data, should under no circumstances be shared with third parties. Let’s not forget that no representative of a bank or financial institution requests this information via call or message.
At the same time, special attention should be paid to calls received via the “WhatsApp” application. Do not trust individuals who present themselves as bank employees and request card details via “WhatsApp”; it is fraudulent.
Also, accessing unknown links sent on social networks can lead to the seizure of personal and financial information. For this reason, during calls made under the name of “technical support,” the reliability of the other party must be absolutely verified before providing any information.
In case you face a risk, it is recommended to immediately inform the police and the servicing bank.
Let’s not forget that cybersecurity is the responsibility of every citizen. Be vigilant against fraud cases. Personal information is a key; do not give it to others.”
