The court released Gevork and Ambartsum Nersisyan, the brother and nephew of Karekin II, the Catholicos of All Armenians, under house arrest.

“Elchi” reports with reference to the Armenian media that by the court’s decision, the measure of restraint chosen against them was replaced with house arrest for a period of three months, as well as a bail of 1 million drams (approximately $2,500) and a written undertaking not to leave the place.

It should be noted that Gevork Nersisyan and his son Ambartsum were arrested on November 3, 2025. They are accused of obstructing the election campaign of the Republican Party in the elections.
