Approximately 100 American soldiers have arrived in Nigeria to combat terrorism.

“Elchi” reports that this was reported by the Nigerian newspaper “Vanguard”.

US experts were transported by military transport aircraft to Maiduguri, the capital of Borno State in the northeast of the country.

Approximately 200 military advisers, analysts and trainers are expected to assist the Nigerian Armed Forces in conducting targeted counter-terrorism operations. Previously, three US military transport aircraft delivered a consignment of equipment, including ammunition, to the Nigerian Armed Forces base in Borno State.

According to the newspaper, these are only the first in a series of similar flights.

“After negotiations between Nigeria and the United States, the American government will not only send us military personnel, but will also provide the necessary logistical support, including ammunition supplies, to fight the insurgents,” the publication quoted a source in the Nigerian Army Headquarters as saying.

Observers noted that after losing such a base in neighboring Niger, the US plans to create a base for military intelligence drones in northeastern Nigeria to monitor the situation in the Sahel region.
