China is not directly involved in the Ukraine war.
“Elchi” reports that this was stated by Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi at the Munich Security Conference.
“China’s position on this issue is clear. This conflict should be resolved through dialogue and consultation. China does not have the last word in resolving this conflict. We are only promoting peace and negotiations,” the Chinese Foreign Minister said.
He added that Europe should also be involved in resolving this conflict.
“Europe should not look at the issue from the outside. Last year, when I was on this platform, when negotiations were held with Russia, Europe remained on the sidelines and watched. Since the conflict started here in Europe, I declared at the time that Europe has the right to participate in these negotiations when the time comes. I said that Europe should be at the table, not on the menu. Now we see that Europe has found the courage to have a dialogue with Russia. This is good and we support it,” Wang Yi noted.
He reminded that his country is a partner, not a competitor, with Europe.
“Today, the volume of trade between Europe and us in one day is more than the trade we carried out in the next year after establishing diplomatic relations. Why should China be introduced as a competitor of the European Union?” Wang Yi asked a rhetorical question.
