Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum has stated that her country is ready to act as a mediator in the dialogue between Washington and Havana in the context of the oil blockade imposed by the US on Cuba.
“Elchi” reports that this was reported by EFE.
“We have already made proposals, now everything depends on the two countries (USA and Cuba – ed.). Mexico will do everything for the sake of dialogue within the framework of Cuba’s sovereignty. This position is in line with the traditional principles of Mexico’s foreign policy,” she said.
“The right of peoples to self-determination is very important, this is not only about our principles. It is necessary to create conditions for a peace dialogue with Cuba, because no other country is subject to such sanctions,” the Mexican President noted.
Earlier, Sheinbaum promised to expand humanitarian support to Cuba .
