Media: US sends approximately 6,000 “Starlink” terminals to protesters in Iran

Listen to this article:

The US has sent approximately 6,000 “Starlink” satellite communication terminals to protesters in Iran.

“Elchi” reports that this was reported by The Wall Street Journal.

It was reported that approximately 6,000 terminals were illegally sent to Iran. Over the past few months, the State Department has purchased approximately 7,000 “Starlink” terminals, most of which were in January.

The publication wrote that US President Donald Trump was informed about this step, but it is not known whether he directly authorized it.

In January, Bloomberg reported that Elon Musk’s SpaceX company had canceled the fee for using the Starlink network in Iran.

It should be reminded that on December 29, mass protests began in Iran due to the sharp drop in the national currency and rising prices. As a result of the riots, more than 3,000 people died, including about 40 law enforcement officers.
