Members of the Public Council under the Ministry of Emergency Situations held a meeting at the Cynological Battalion of the Special Risky Rescue Service of the Ministry.

This was reported to Elchi.az by the press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations.

It was reported that the main purpose of the meeting was to get acquainted with the activities of the battalion and to exchange views on operations carried out with the use of specially trained service dogs during emergency situations.

A presentation on the activities of the Cynological Battalion of the Special Risky Rescue Service was made for the members of the Council. It was noted that the battalion has been operating since 2007 and uses specially trained service-search dogs to protect the population and territories from emergency situations, as well as to eliminate the consequences of these situations. The main activities of the battalion are protection, live human search, body search, search for explosive hazardous substances and mine search in the liberated areas. Dogs are selected according to their purpose and undergo special training stages.

During the meeting, the Council members observed the training process of the dogs.

Trainings on rescuing people left helpless in mountainous areas, searching for missing people in difficult-to-pass areas, searching for explosive hazardous substances and explosive devices, rescuing those trapped under rubble during conditional earthquakes and landslides were demonstrated to the Council members by cynologists in specially designated training grounds. Also, the execution of operations using special mechanical devices, modern search devices and specially trained dogs was demonstrated.

The members of the Public Council emphasized the high level of professionalism of the Cynological Battalion of the Special Risky Rescue Service, spoke about the importance of the work carried out, and noted that such meetings will be continued.
