US Energy Secretary Chris Wright has visited Venezuela to assess the state of the country’s oil industry.
Elchi.az reports that the Associated Press reported this.
“Wright is expected to meet with Delsi Rodriguez, who is acting as Venezuela’s President, government officials, heads of oil companies and others,” it was reported.
It should be noted that the US Treasury Department’s Office of Foreign Assets Control has issued key licenses authorizing the supply of goods and services to Venezuela, as well as certain operations related to oil and gas production. The license allows US companies to engage in the exploration, development and production of oil and natural gas in Venezuela.
Last month, US President Donald Trump said that the country’s oil companies are ready to return to Venezuela and invest billions of dollars in the restoration of the oil sector. On January 9, Trump met with the heads of the country’s largest energy companies to discuss these prospects. It was also noted that Trump and Rodriguez had a telephone conversation on January 14.
