The US administration is negotiating with the Russian side on the conclusion of a renewed version of the Strategic Arms Reduction Treaty (START).
Elchi.az reports that this was stated by US Vice President Jay Dee Vance.
“These are ongoing negotiations. It is clear that one of the distinguishing features of the President’s foreign policy is its opposition to the proliferation of nuclear weapons. I think the worst-case scenario for the American people is that more and more regimes in the world acquire nuclear weapons. START plays an important role in this regard. The agreement will be different from its previous form, and this is part of our negotiations with the Russians,” he told reporters.
Vance stressed that he is confident that the US administration “will achieve a good result for the American people and limit the prevention of the proliferation of nuclear weapons.”
