20 people died and 33 people were injured due to Cyclone “Gezani” in Madagascar.
Elchi.az reports that this was stated in the information of the National Bureau for Disaster Risk Management of the island state.
The cyclone, with a wind speed of 250 km/h at the epicenter, destroyed more than 80% of Toamasina, the country’s second largest city and main port after the capital.
The cyclone has already left the territory of Madagascar and crossed into the Mozambique Channel. The number of victims and the calculation of the damage caused by the disaster are still ongoing.
