US imposes sanctions on Russian and Lebanese citizens for supporting Hezbollah

The US has imposed sanctions on individuals who have helped Lebanon’s Hezbollah movement evade US restrictions.

Elchi.az reports that this was stated in a statement posted on the website of the US Department of the Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control.

The restrictions have been applied against Andrey Borisov, a Russian citizen, as well as a Lebanese citizen. In addition, four individuals operating in Lebanon, Panama and Turkey, as well as two cargo ships, have been subjected to restrictions.

The US State Department’s press service said that Washington plans to increase pressure on Iran and its proxy forces in this way.

The assets of those included in the sanctions list in the United States will be frozen, and American citizens and companies will be prohibited from doing business with the persons on the list.
