The “Slovenian Artificial Intelligence Factory”, equipped with high-performance computers, has been opened in Slovenia.
Elchi.az reports that, according to Slovenian Radio and Television (RTV), the opening of the factory, which aims to provide basic services for the development of artificial intelligence to companies, research institutions and public sector users, was made by Slovenian Prime Minister Robert Golob.
Speaking at the opening, Golob said that they are trying not to lag behind in artificial intelligence and that the factory will help them in this regard.
Golob emphasized that the “supercomputer” in the factory will be open not only to scientists, but also to many sectors, including industry and economy, and said: “The real need is to create conditions in which this knowledge can be used and transferred to the economy. The biggest advantage of the new artificial intelligence factory and supercomputer has emerged at this stage. We are also considering providing access to citizens through the national generative artificial intelligence platform that will be created within the factory.”
The head of the European Commission’s Representation in Slovenia, Jerneja Jug Jerse, stated that the opening of the “Slovenian Artificial Intelligence Factory” is important not only for Slovenia, but also for the entire European Union (EU).
Jerse also noted that the factory is one of the few artificial intelligence factories established in the EU.
The project, implemented in partnership with Luxembourg-based Euro HPC, which aims to develop supercomputer technologies and applications in Slovenia and Europe, aims to develop the artificial intelligence ecosystem and expand the use of artificial intelligence applications in industry, the public sector and science.
