Mount Semeru, located in East Java, Indonesia, has erupted.
Elchi.az reports that this was stated in a statement by the Center for Volcanology and Geological Disaster Mitigation of the republic.
The statement noted that the height of the ash cloud rising from the crater of the volcano reached 800 meters, and the ash rose to a height of 4,476 meters above sea level.
According to the agency, the ash is spreading rapidly in the northeast direction. Residents of the central region where the volcano is located have been advised to be careful and not to approach the crater more than 5 kilometers due to the risk of hot rocks being thrown.
