Person suspected of contact with Iranian agents detained in Israel

Israeli General Security Service and police officers have detained a journalist suspected of contact with Iranian agents.

Elchi.az reports that this was reported by Ynet.

It was reported that the suspect was detained at the end of January, a few days after reporting to the police’s cyber department that he had been contacted by unknown persons.

The publication noted that the journalist was contacted via social networks and asked to take pictures of protests, as well as central streets of Jerusalem, for a fee. At first, he suspected nothing, because he had received similar offers as part of his work. Later, he contacted the cyber security department and reported these appeals.

Although law enforcement officers tried to extend his detention, the appeal was rejected by the Court of Appeal. The publication stated that he is currently under house arrest.
