Spanish club Barcelona has left the European Super League project.
Elchi.az reports that the press service of the Catalan representative has released information about this.
After this decision, only one member remains in the project established in 2021 – Real Madrid.
Barcelona president Joan Laporta, citing the new format implemented by UEFA in the Champions League and increased revenues (20%), stated that the Super League idea is no longer relevant.
The Super League, created with the participation of 12 major European clubs, collapsed after strong protests from fans and international organizations. Initially, English clubs, followed by teams such as Inter, Atletico Madrid, and Juventus, left the project.
