Legal entities and individual entrepreneurs presenting strategic investment projects implemented in the directions determined by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan will be issued an investment promotion document for 6 years from January 1, 2023.
According to Elchi.az, President Ilham Aliyev signed a Decree in this regard.
The Ministry of Economy must resolve the issues arising from this Decree.
The directions of strategic investment projects for which the investment promotion document is intended to be issued are as follows:
1. Production projects based on the local raw material base (metal ore, aluminum, oil, gas, chemical, construction materials, cotton and silkworm)
2. Energy production projects based on renewable energy sources
3. Waste management and recycling projects
4. Seawater desalination projects
5. Creation of private industrial districts and production projects implemented by residents of industrial districts
6. Production projects of non-oil/gas industry enterprises privatized through investment competitions held after January 1, 2023
7. “First in Azerbaijan” projects implemented in the direction of creating economic activity areas that are organized for the first time in the Republic of Azerbaijan, promote the level of self-sufficiency with local products (import substitution) or increase the export potential of the non-oil sector
8. Production of medicines and pharmaceutical products (excluding packaging activities) projects
9. Projects for the repair of railway rolling stock and the production of its spare parts
10. Production of military products.
