Media: Russia did not demand a reduction in the number of Ukrainian troops at the Abu Dhabi talks

At the second round of talks between Ukraine, the United States, and Russia in Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Moscow did not raise the issue of changing or reducing the number of Ukrainian troops.

Elchi.az reports that this was reported by RBK-Ukraine, citing a source.

“The next round of negotiations in Abu Dhabi ended with some progress. During the negotiations, Russia did not raise the issue of changing, reducing, or imposing a ban on certain types of weapons for the Ukrainian army,” the source said.

According to him, a short meeting was initially held in a broad format, after which the delegations worked in subgroups.

Preliminary agreement was reached on holding the next meeting in the same composition in the near future.

It should be noted that on February 4, the first day of the next round of negotiations between the technical groups of Ukraine, Russia, and the United States took place in the capital of the UAE. The first round of negotiations also took place in Abu Dhabi on January 23-24, and the meeting, initially scheduled for February 1, was postponed to February 4-5.

At the end of the meeting, the parties called the nature of the discussions “constructive”.
