The European Union’s (EU) next, 20th sanctions package against Russia will include energy, trade and financial services.

Elchi.az reports that the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, said this, according to “Report”.

She noted that in the new sanctions package, the EU will extend restrictive measures to 43 more tankers used to transport Russian oil. In addition, the package will include a ban on providing services for the transportation of Russian oil.

“I urge the member states to approve these new sanctions quickly. This will be a strong signal on the eve of the fourth anniversary of the war: our commitment to a free and sovereign Ukraine is unwavering. Moreover, it gets stronger every day, every month, every year,” she emphasized.

“The new sanctions package covers energy, financial services and trade. In the energy sector, we are imposing a complete ban on the maritime transport of Russian oil. This will further reduce Russia’s revenues from energy carriers and make it difficult for it to find buyers for its oil,” said von der Leyen.
