The Electronic Security Service (National CERT) has investigated an attempted attack targeting the state and banking sector using steganography techniques.

According to the information, the analysis revealed that in the attack scenario, malicious components were hidden inside legitimate-looking files using steganographic methods. If the file is opened by the user, there is a risk of downloading “Remcos RAT”-type malware and gaining full remote control over the system.
Technical indicators (IOCs) for the attack have been added to the misp.cert.az platform.
It was noted that institutions and organizations are invited to exchange information and cooperate with the National CERT on suspicious activities, detected indicators, and cyber incidents.
