“Shell” reduced its liquefied natural gas (LNG) production by 2% in 2025 compared to the previous year, to approximately 28.4 million tons.
Elchi.az reports that this was noted in the company’s report.
According to the information, “Shell” produced 6.6 million tons in the first quarter, 6.7 million tons in the second quarter, 7.3 million tons in the third quarter, and 7.8 million tons in the fourth quarter. The increase in the fourth quarter was due to a decrease in the volume of repair work and the phased commissioning of the “LNG Canada” project.
The company’s LNG sales increased by 11% in 2025, reaching 72.9 million tons. Sales volume in the first quarter amounted to 16.49 million tons, in the second quarter 17.77 million tons, in the third quarter 18.88 million tons, and in the fourth quarter 19.8 million tons.
“Shell” announced its forecast for LNG production for the first quarter of 2026 at the level of 7.4–8 million tons.
It should be noted that the company had previously announced plans to strengthen its position in the LNG market and increase production by 4–5% annually by 2030.
