Dias-Canel: Cuba does not pose a threat to the US

Cuba does not pose a threat to the US, and its military doctrine is aimed only at the country’s defense.

Elchi.az reports that this was stated by Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel at a press conference.

“Our military doctrine does not imply any aggression against another country. We do not pose a threat to the US,” the President emphasized.

He noted that Cuba cooperates with other countries in the military field, but there are no foreign bases on its territory: “There is one illegal military base in Cuba, which is the US base in Guantanamo.”

Díaz-Canel said that the Defense Council is studying measures and plans in the event of a declaration of martial law, but there is no need for this at the moment: “Our defense systems are preparing, but we are not talking about the transition to martial law yet.”
