According to reports, the search was conducted as part of an investigation launched in January 2025.
The Paris Public Prosecutor’s Office also announced that it was “abandoning” the X company’s social media platform.
According to the French newspaper “Le Monde”, the searches were carried out in the Paris offices of company X.
Elon Musk summoned for questioning
The Paris Public Prosecutor’s Office summoned Linda Yaccarino, who was in a senior position during the events under investigation, and Elon Musk, the owner of the X platform and CEO of Tesla, to testify in Paris on April 20.
The prosecutor’s office stated that the scope of the investigation was expanded after various complaints about the platform’s activities after Grok, an artificial intelligence tool integrated into the X company’s social media platform, denied the Holocaust and spread deep fake content.
The Paris Public Prosecutor’s Office launched an investigation after Eric Bothorel, a member of the Renaissance Parliament, submitted a complaint regarding the X platform in 2025.
Bonedorel expressed concern about changes in the algorithms used on the platform and interventions made after the purchase by Musk.
