American company OpenAI is dissatisfied with some of Nvidia’s latest chips and is looking for alternatives for artificial intelligence (AI).

According to sources, the strategy change of the company that developed ChatGPT is related to the increasing importance of microprocessors used in the stage of concrete conclusion of artificial intelligence. This stage includes the process by which the model responds to users’ requests and appeals.
The publication notes that OpenAI and other companies’ search for alternatives in the AI chip market is considered a “serious test” for Nvidia’s dominant position in the field of artificial intelligence, and this step was taken against the background of bilateral negotiations on investments. Nvidia still maintains its leading position in the market for chips for training large AI models, but the inference process has already become a “new front of competition.”
Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang previously stated that the American technology company he leads plans to reconsider the amount it will participate in financing the OpenAI startup. According to him, the company will “absolutely participate in financing because it is a good investment,” but it has not been specified how much Nvidia will invest in OpenAI.
