NYT: Concessions in Donbass will not stop Russia

Any concessions in Donbass as part of a peace agreement will not help end the war, but will only give Russia time to prepare for a larger offensive into the deep territories of Ukraine.

Elchi.az reports that this was written by The New York Times.

Analysts have warned that Russia’s insistence on gaining full control over Ukraine’s Donetsk region may be more than just a ploy to save face.

Experts fear that the surrender of Slavyansk and Kramatorsk will deprive Kyiv of its strongest line of defense in the east.

According to the publication, the part of the Donetsk region that is still under Ukrainian control is one of the most fortified parts of the front, as defense structures have been built there since 2014, long before the full-scale Russian invasion.
