Ukraine cannot join the European Union and NATO, because it would mean war. It should remain a “buffer zone” between the West and Russia.
Elchi.az reports that this opinion was expressed by Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban.
He reminded that the roadmap for Ukraine, prepared in Brussels and Kyiv, envisages its accelerated accession to the EU by 2027. The next seven-year budget of the EU is also being prepared taking this into account: “But if Ukraine joins the European Union now, there will be a war in Europe, because it is an illusion that an EU country can wage war against a great power without the intervention of others. Therefore, we believe that Ukraine’s accession to the EU is unacceptable,” the head of government said.
Orban, who said that “Ukraine’s membership in the EU is a path leading to war and the destruction of the European market,” emphasized that such a step – contrary to some claims – will not strengthen the security of the European Union and NATO, but will weaken it.
According to him, Ukraine cannot protect Europe from Russia. Ukraine does not strengthen Europe, but rather draws it into war.
He has repeatedly stated that the European Union should strengthen its security and that Ukraine should be given the role of a “buffer zone” between the West and Russia. Orban confirmed that he still holds this opinion.
