Rodriguez’s statement on Venezuela’s airspace

Venezuela’s interim president, Delsy Rodriguez, stated regarding US President Donald Trump’s announcement that Venezuela’s airspace would be reopened for commercial flights, that “All airlines and investors who need to come should come to our country.”
Elchi.az reports that Rodriguez, speaking in the capital Caracas, announced that all commercial airspace restrictions in place since November 2025 have been lifted.
Rodriguez, emphasizing that she discussed this issue with US President Trump, said, “All airlines that need to come should come.” Rodriguez also emphasized that she met with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio and that significant steps were taken between the two countries, saying, “We are discussing the lifting of all restrictions on Venezuela’s commercial airspace; all airlines and investors who need to come should come to our country.” Trump made a statement on the current situation in Venezuela at the first cabinet meeting of the year held at the White House.
President Trump, referring to Venezuela’s interim president Rodriguez, said, “I just spoke with the President of Venezuela and informed him that we will open all commercial airspace over Venezuela.”
He noted that he instructed the US Department of Transportation and the military to open Venezuelan airspace for commercial flights as soon as possible, adding that Americans will now be able to travel to Venezuela and “will be safe there.”
Rodriguez began serving as interim President on January 5, after being sworn in at the National Assembly following US air strikes and the detention of Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro.
Rodriguez said in a statement: “I am here with a deep sense of sadness over the kidnapping of our two heroes held hostage in the US – President Nicolas Maduro and (his wife) Cilia Flores.”
