The British government will draft a bill to add the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC, an elite military unit) of Iran to the list of banned organizations.

According to him, the bill will be submitted to parliament in 2026. It is noted that the British Foreign Office and MI6 foreign intelligence service do not support the blacklisting of the IRGC.
They fear that such a move would destroy diplomatic channels between London and Tehran and lead to the expulsion of British diplomats from Iran.
On January 29, EU Foreign Minister Kaya Kallas wrote on X that EU foreign ministers have taken a decisive step by calling the IRGC a terrorist organization.
