Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, in a statement regarding a possible agreement with the United States, said that “This agreement must be based on the principle of equality, stay away from pressure and threats, and ensure Iran’s right to possess peaceful nuclear technology.”
Elchi.az reports that Abbas Araghchi responded to US President Donald Trump’s agreement message in a statement he shared on his social media account.
Araghchi noted that Iran has always welcomed a fair and equal nuclear agreement based on mutual benefit:
“This agreement must be based on the principle of equality, not contain elements of pressure, intimidation and threats, ensure Iran’s right to possess peaceful nuclear technology, and guarantee that it will not acquire nuclear weapons.”
Araghchi emphasized that there is no place for weapons of mass destruction in Iran’s security doctrine and that the country has never tried to acquire such weapons. He also stated that they are ready to respond immediately and strongly to any attack against Iran.
