3 settlements dating back to the Golden Horde period found in Kazakhstan

Archaeologists have discovered three new settlements and 250 artifacts dating back to the Golden Horde period during excavations in the “Saraishyq” museum-reserve in Kazakhstan.

Elchi.az reports that this was reported by the “24KZ” TV channel.

The report states: “Atyrau archaeologists have discovered three ancient settlements in the territory of the ‘Saraishyq’ museum-reserve. During the excavations, 250 artifacts were found. The remains of the walls of a dwelling house, a citadel and a caravanserai were discovered. The finds date back to the beginning of the 14th century and belong to the Golden Horde period.”

It is noted that scientists reported on the findings at an event dedicated to the results of research for 2025 – at Atyrau University.

According to the TV channel, more than 7 thousand artifacts have been discovered in the museum-reserve area, and restoration work is also being carried out on the ancient buildings found.
