The Peace Council, created on the initiative of US President Donald Trump, has presented the first group of founding countries confirming their participation.
Elchi.az reports that compared to the initial list of countries that signed the charter of the Council, the new list has been expanded by seven states, including Belarus, Egypt and Cambodia, bringing the total number of co-founders to 26. This was reported on the Peace Council’s “X” page.
On January 22, within the framework of the World Economic Forum in Davos, the Charter of the Peace Council was officially signed by 18 internationally recognized states: Azerbaijan, Argentina, Armenia, Bahrain, Bulgaria, Hungary, Indonesia, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Qatar, Morocco, Mongolia, United Arab Emirates, Pakistan, Paraguay, Uzbekistan, Saudi Arabia. Representatives of the state that calls itself Kosovo also signed the document.
The updated list of founding countries officially includes the Republic of Belarus, Albania, Cambodia, Egypt, El Salvador, Jordan and Kuwait. On January 22, the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belarus stated that Minsk is ready to play an active role in the formation of a new security architecture as a co-founder of the Peace Council.
The Peace Council was created on the basis of an agreement between Israel and the radical Palestinian Hamas movement to lead the Gaza Strip, but it is also expected to participate in the prevention and resolution of conflicts in other regions.
