Orban: Threats from Kyiv will not prevent him from defending Hungary’s interests

“Ukrainian leaders have crossed the line in their attacks on Hungary and interference in its internal affairs.”

Elchi.az reports that Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban noted that relations between the two countries have reached a state of conflict.

“We were not looking for a conflict, but Hungary has been in conflict for several days now. However, the threats from the president, the foreign minister and extremist military groups will not prevent us from defending the interests of the Hungarian people,” Orban said.

He confirmed that despite these threats, Hungary will not send money to Kyiv that will be spent on the golden baths of Ukrainian oligarchs, will not ban Russian oil and gas, and will not allow Ukraine to join the EU.

“As long as Hungary has a nationally oriented government, these issues will not be resolved in Kyiv or Brussels. Ukraine knows this too. That is why they want a new, Ukraine-friendly government in Budapest, and that is why they constantly threaten us,” the prime minister said.

On January 27, on his instructions, the Hungarian Foreign Ministry summoned the Ukrainian ambassador to Budapest to protest Ukraine’s interference in Hungary’s internal affairs, including the parliamentary elections to be held on April 12.
