Over the past year, 2,546 road traffic accidents were recorded in the coverage area of video surveillance cameras installed on the capital’s roads.
Elchi.az reports that this was stated in the information of the Intelligent Transport Management Center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
“The analysis of these accidents showed that the main reasons are speeding, driving at a red light, not keeping a safe distance, violating the requirements of traffic signs, and driver inattention. The incidents mostly occurred on central streets and avenues with heavy traffic, on Ziya Bunyadov, Heydar Aliyev, Babek, November 8, Tbilisi avenues, Baku-Sumgayit, Airport, Sabunchu-Zabrat highways and other roads,” the report said.
