The number of British military personnel providing security for the embassy in Kyiv and participating in military operations has increased since the Labour Party came to power in July 2024.
“Report” informs that this was stated by the British Minister of Defense John Healey during his speech in the Defense Committee of the House of Commons (lower house) of the British Parliament.
“There are several British military personnel in Ukraine who assist the embassy and the country’s defense. This situation has been going on since the embassy’s defense unit resumed its work in April 2022. This number has increased after the elections in July 2024. We continue to increase our support to Ukraine at its request,” he said.
It should be reminded that on January 6, based on the results of the meeting of the “coalition of volunteers” in Paris, the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky, the President of France Emmanuel Macron and the Prime Minister of Great Britain Kir Starmer signed a declaration of intent to deploy international forces on the territory of Ukraine. The participants also signed a declaration on security guarantees to Kyiv.
