India and EU complete free trade agreement negotiations

India and the European Union (EU) have completed negotiations on a free trade agreement.

Elchi.az reports that this was announced to journalists by Rajesh Agrawal, Deputy Minister of Trade and Industry of India.

According to him, the agreement will be announced on January 27 during the India-EU summit.

“The agreement will be balanced, forward-looking and will contribute to more efficient economic integration with the EU. It will also stimulate the development of trade and investment between the two sides,” Agrawal said.

According to the Deputy Minister, the official signing of the agreement will take place after the legal verification of the text, which may take 5-6 months. The agreement is expected to enter into force in 2027.
