Begging and metal collecting banned in Şanlıurfa

The Şanlıurfa Governorship in Turkey has announced a ban on begging and illegal customer attraction activities within the province to maintain public order, security, and welfare.

Elchi.az reports that this information was published by “Haber Global”.

It was stated that begging is prohibited in public open spaces, including streets, avenues, squares, parks and gardens, parking lots, historical and cultural sites, places of worship, ATMs, underpasses, traffic lights, and intersections, within the framework of the general order issued by the Şanlıurfa Governorship.

In addition, it is not allowed to disturb people by wiping car windows or selling towels, flowers, and similar products. It was stated that such activities that disturb citizens in public transportation, cemeteries, wedding halls, entertainment venues, and sidewalks, creating a threat to road safety, will be prevented.

Engaging children in collecting recyclable materials from garbage dumps and streets, even if their parents or guardians are with them, is also prohibited.

Also, invitation methods that obstruct pedestrian passage in front of workplaces, defined as illegal customer attraction, and involve insistent, loud, or physical contact are not allowed. Those who violate the ban will be fined and held accountable. Control will be carried out by security, gendarmerie, and municipal police units.
