Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky discussed the issue of support for the Ukrainian energy system with his Lithuanian counterpart Gitanas Nauseda.
According to Elchi.az, Zelensky wrote about this on his Telegram channel.
“Russia attacks our energy sector every day. I informed Gitanas about this, and also noted Ukraine’s needs to strengthen energy stability and air defense. Lithuania has already decided to help Ukrainian cities and communities, to transfer about a hundred generators,” Zelensky said.
According to the President, the parties also discussed military cooperation, joint defense projects, support for the PURL initiative and cooperation within the SAFE program. Zelensky stressed that Lithuania offered to open an arms export platform in Vilnius to strengthen the defense capabilities of Kyiv and its partners.
“Diplomacy is also one of the most important topics of negotiations. I shared new details of diplomatic activity in the name of peace – about the meetings of the Ukrainian, US and Russian delegations in Abu Dhabi. Ukraine, as always, is doing everything possible on its part to end the war,” the Ukrainian leader added.
V. Zelensky is currently on a visit to Lithuania. He will participate in events dedicated to the 163rd anniversary of the January Uprising and will also meet with Polish President Karol Navrotski.
