Trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Russia increased

In 2025, the volume of trade operations between Azerbaijan and Russia amounted to 4.920 billion US dollars.

Elchi.az received information about this from the State Customs Committee.

According to the information, this is 120.4 million US dollars or 2.5% more compared to the indicator in 2024.

During the reporting period, trade turnover with Russia amounted to 10.08% of Azerbaijan’s total trade turnover. Thus, Russia ranked 3rd among the countries with which Azerbaijan carried out the most trade operations during the reporting period.

Last year, Azerbaijan recorded exports of 1.184 billion dollars to Russia. This is 5.4 million US dollars or 0.5% more compared to 2024.

During the period, 1.174 billion US dollars of export operations to Russia fell to the share of non-oil products, which is 12.4 million US dollars or 1.1% more compared to the year. Exports of non-oil products to Russia constituted 34.62% of Azerbaijan’s total exports, making the country the largest buyer of Azerbaijani non-oil products.

During the reporting period, export operations worth 3.736 billion US dollars were carried out from Russia to Azerbaijan, which is an increase of 115 million US dollars or 3.2% compared to 2024. Thus, during the reporting period, Russia ranked second after China among the countries from which Azerbaijan imported the most products.

It should be noted that in 2025, Azerbaijan carried out trade operations with foreign countries worth 49.423 billion US dollars. This is 1.810 billion dollars or 3.8% more than the previous year.

25.043 billion US dollars of foreign trade turnover fell to exports, and 24.380 billion US dollars to imports. In the last 1 year, exports decreased by 1.5 billion dollars or 5.7%, while imports increased by 3.322 billion dollars or 15.8%.

In the end, a positive balance of 663 million dollars was created in foreign trade, which is 4.833 billion dollars or 8.3 times less compared to the annual comparison.
