South Korean leadership wants the US to appoint a special envoy to the DPRK

South Korean Prime Minister Kim Min-seok has proposed to US Vice President Jay Dee Vance that a special envoy be sent to the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea.

Elchi.az reports this with reference to foreign media.

The Prime Minister of South Korea made this proposal during a meeting at the White House. The meeting took place during his five-day visit to the United States.

“Sending a special envoy to North Korea, regardless of who it is, could be a way to show the intention to improve relations,” Min-seok said.

It should be reminded that in January, Kim Hon Chol, director of the defense policy department of the country’s Ministry of Defense, stated that Seoul has no plans for any provocations against the DPRK.
