US President Donald Trump’s demands to take control of Greenland and subsequent tariff threats have caused a major wave of protests in Denmark and other Scandinavian countries.
Elchi.az reports that, as a concrete manifestation of this protest, the “NonUSA” (UdenUSA) mobile application, which helps to identify and boycott American products, has risen to the number one spot in Danish app stores.
High interest in boycott apps
The NonUSA application, which stands out with the slogan “Helps to identify and avoid American products in everyday life”, allows users to scan product barcodes to see place of production and ownership information.
The application also offers alternatives to US-made products from the Danish local market.
According to reports, the application, which was in 441st place on January 9, quickly rose, surpassing popular applications such as ChatGPT, as tensions rose. The “Made O’Meter” application, which has a similar function, is also among the 10 most downloaded applications in Denmark, Norway, Sweden and Iceland.
