Elchi.az reports that US President Donald Trump announced that he has withdrawn his invitation to Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney to participate in the Gaza Peace Committee.
US President Donald Trump’s move angered the Canadian government. In a message shared on the Truth social media platform, Trump announced that he had withdrawn his invitation to Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney to participate in the Gaza Peace Committee. Addressing Carney, Trump said: “Please be advised in this letter that the Gaza Peace Committee has withdrawn the invitation it sent to you regarding Canada’s participation.” Trump added that the Gaza Peace Committee will be the most influential council of leaders ever created.
Carney criticized Trump’s policy
Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney, speaking at the World Economic Forum (WEF), said regarding US threats against Greenland: “I think NATO is clearly being tested. The first response to this test is to ensure the security of the Arctic strongly and strongly against all odds.” Claiming that large states have begun to use economic integration as a weapon, Carney criticized Trump’s tariff policy, referring to it, and said: “Tariffs are used as bargaining chips, financial infrastructure as a means of coercion, and supply chains as weaknesses to be exploited.”
Carney responded to Trump’s words.
Carney also reacted to Trump’s statement that “Canada exists thanks to the USA” and said: “Canada and the USA have established an extraordinary partnership in the fields of economy, security and rich cultural exchange. But Canada does not exist thanks to the USA. Canada is developing because we are Canadians.”
