US President Donald Trump has approved an agreement for the acquisition of TikTok’s American division by a consortium of investors led by Oracle and Silver Lake.
Elchi.az reports that he wrote about this on his page on the Truth Social social network.
According to Trump, TikTok helped him “do so well” among young voters in the presidential election. He also thanked US Vice President Jay Dee Vance and administration officials who participated in the conclusion of the agreement with the Chinese owners.
The US President also expressed his gratitude to the Chairman of the People’s Republic of China, Xi Jinping. According to Trump, Xi Jinping “could have acted differently, but he did not, and we appreciate his decision.”
After taking office, Trump signed a decree regarding TikTok and postponed the ban on the social network for 75 days. According to the document, TikTok will be able to continue operating in the United States if 50 percent of the platform’s shares are sold to American investors.
