The project for transitioning to hourly wages has been submitted to the government and is under discussion.
Elchi.az reports that Veli Guliyev, the head of the State Labor Inspectorate Service, stated this at a press conference held by the Service on the topic of “The work done by the State Labor Inspectorate Service in 2025 and its goals for 2026.”
He stated that phased work is planned in that direction.
“Many countries have both a monthly minimum wage and an hourly wage system mechanism. In Azerbaijan, in the initial stage, it is planned to switch individuals with incomplete and up to 1-month employment contracts to hourly employment contracts,” said V. Guliyev.
