Jeff Bezos to build a network of thousands of satellites in space

Jeff Bezos’ space company, Blue Origin, is making a big leap in the satellite market dominated by Elon Musk’s SpaceX (Starlink) and his former company Amazon (Leo – formerly Project Kuiper). The company has announced a massive satellite network called TeraWave, designed for data centers, governments, and large-scale enterprises.
Elchi.az reports that TeraWave is an ultra-high-speed communications network aimed at moving global data traffic into space.
The most notable feature of this network is its ability to reach speeds of 6 Tbit/s (6 Terabits per second), far beyond today’s consumer standards.
A total of 5408 satellites will be placed in Low Earth Orbit (LEO) and Medium Earth Orbit (MEO).
LEO satellites will offer speeds up to 144 Gbit/s, while MEO satellites will be able to reach speeds of 6 Tbit/s via optical links. Instead of individual users, the target audience is approximately 100,000 niche customers who need “industrial-scale” internet access, such as data centers, cloud providers, and the defense industry.
Upload and download speeds will be equal, providing a significant advantage in processing large data sets.
