Pakistan has agreed to join the Peace Council to support the implementation of the peace plan in the Gaza Strip.

Elchi.az reports that this was stated in a statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan (MFA).

“Pakistan has accepted US President Donald Trump’s invitation to Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif to join the Peace Council. This is part of the country’s ongoing efforts to support the implementation of the Gaza peace plan within the framework of UN Security Council Resolution 2803,” the statement said.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs noted that the creation of this mechanism should lead to concrete steps to achieve a permanent ceasefire, expand humanitarian aid to the Palestinians and restore the infrastructure of the Palestinian enclave.

The Pakistani Foreign Ministry also emphasized that the country is ready to continue playing a constructive role within the framework of the Peace Council to achieve these goals and end the suffering of the Palestinian people.
