“I am not sure that my supporters will be able to fully collect the bail amount of approximately $760,000 to prevent my arrest.”
Elchi.az reports that this was stated to journalists by Yulia Tymoshenko, the chairman of the Ukrainian opposition “Batkivshina” party.
“Honestly, I don’t know for the moment. Tomorrow we will hold a special press conference to clarify what is possible and what is not,” the opposition leader emphasized.
The Kyiv court on January 16 imposed a bail of 33.3 million hryvnias (approximately $760,000) as a preventive measure against the chairman of the “Batkivshina” party.
On January 14, the Ukrainian Anti-Corruption Bureau searched the office of Yulia Tymoshenko. She is accused of bribing Verkhovna Rada deputies to vote on bills.
