Zelensky: Ukraine declares state of emergency in energy sector

A state of emergency will be declared in the energy sector of Ukraine.

According to Elchi.az, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky wrote about this on his Telegram channel after the meeting.

He also announced the creation of a 24-hour headquarters to coordinate the situation in Kyiv.

“Special attention is paid to the situation in Kyiv. The situation is difficult due to the consequences of Russian strikes and worsening weather conditions. A permanent headquarters will be created to coordinate the situation in Kyiv. A state of emergency will be declared in the energy sector of Ukraine as a whole. In these circumstances, supporting people and communities, as well as solving practical issues, has been assigned to the First Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine and the Minister of Energy,” Zelensky said.

The Ukrainian leader also emphasized that the country intends to significantly increase electricity imports.

He also instructed the government to review the curfew rules in severe cold weather and increase the number of support centers for the population.
