The US State Department is temporarily suspending the review of all visas for citizens of 75 countries in order to strengthen the verification of applicants’ data.
Elchi.az reports that Fox News reported this with reference to the State Department.
Consular staff have been instructed not to issue visas until the review of applicants’ verification and selection procedures is completed.
The list of countries where visa issuance has been suspended includes, in particular, Somalia, Russia, Afghanistan, Brazil, Iran, Iraq, Egypt, Nigeria, Thailand, Yemen and a number of other countries.
The restrictions will take effect on January 21 and will remain in effect until the visa procedures are re-evaluated.
