Spain summoned Iranian Ambassador to Madrid, Reza Zabibi, to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, condemning the killing of protesters in Iran.
Elchi.az reports that the head of the Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Jose Manuel Albares, said this in an interview with the country’s radio.
“The rights of Iranian women and men to peaceful protest and freedom of expression must be respected and arbitrary arrests must end,” he added.
It should be noted that since December 28, 2025, mass actions have been held in Iran due to the sharp depreciation of the national currency and the difficult economic situation. The actions are accompanied by riots and clashes, and there is information about the killing of thousands of protesters so far.
