A humanitarian corridor from the eastern districts of Aleppo province in northern Syria will be opened on January 15.

Elchi.az reports that the Syrian transitional government’s armed forces operations command told SANA about this.

According to the information, a safe route to the city of Aleppo will pass through the Hamima point along the main road connecting the Kurdish units’ advance point, the settlement of Deyr-Khafer on the Euphrates River, and the northern capital of Syria. The Syrian army called on civilians not to approach the positions of the “Syrian Democratic Forces” (SDF) coalition in eastern Aleppo.

On Tuesday, the operations command declared the districts located in the east of the city a closed military zone. Military aid and armored vehicles were sent to the line of contact with the fighters.

The authorities in Damascus accused the SDF of using the eastern outskirts of Aleppo to launch unmanned aerial vehicles that struck city neighborhoods, Syrian military posts, and internal security forces in early January.

The movement rejected the accusations made by the authorities, emphasizing that the base on the Euphrates River was created to protect the regions under its control in the northeast of the country.
